Greens Water, passion project, love object, with its offshoots and tendrils, is taking a break throughout Thanksgiving and the holiday season, free to be, posting occasionally, such as perhaps the polenta stuffing, planned for Thanksgiving.  This photo of a brownstone entrance decorated for the season, wabi-sabi. Fall tasks for the small urban backyard:  remove leaves and debris with the leaf blower.  Shut off the garden hose before the first freeze.  Tidy up the planters. This year, I added a task. This past winter and spring was excessively windy. Everyone with outsized allergies. The winter wind destroyed some of my tough evergreen plants making the sides of the garden look patchy, uneven.  The Tree Guy said it was okay to wrap the plants in burlap a la the internet for the winter, giving them winter coats. The winter is approaching.  I buy some burlap from guess who online. I cut swaths of burlap for each plant. Time to wrap the plants with zip ties as seen on YouTube. …Never worked with burlap material before…makes sense to use because it’s breathable.   This project went pretty well. Now from the window this winter, I don’t need to watch the Evergreen plants and the Boxwoods bend with each gale force wind that comes along.   That it’s become a predo...

Here’s How:  Fire Escape and Fence Painted, Gutter Replaced. Project Manager now sometimes. Restoration of gutter downspout, fire escape and fence of 1901 now split building, with 4 condo residential units.  Bundled the three tasks, then paid for the project in full during the fiscal year before the work would be done for a discount. The neighboring building pitched in for their part of the work.  Project completed Summer 2025.

Not an endorsement.  If I ever thought there would be a day where I monitored my sleep with an AI driven titanium ring on my finger, well.   But here we are. I chose the RingConn Gen 2 for its suspected sleep apnea monitoring function. This ring trends toward older people, it seems to me.   Importantly, if you are buying a Smart Ring, there is no subscription service with the RingConn Gen 2. The ring for the Hollywood set, the aptly named Oura Ring, comes with a monthly subscription fee which isn’t part of my budget. Though, I would advise that if you are looking for more socialization with people, opt for the Hollywood favorite Oura Ring, because friends are creating health circles, sharing information, for real.   Could be a tool to meet and bond with people depending on your goals and social set.
