The House in the Pines - Ana Reyes
Muddled, poorly structured and cliché driven debut novel with nice cover art. The main premise of this thriller is introduced to the reader in the last half of this book. If the premise had been introduced in the first half of the book, the author could have made a case for it. And, how many modern thrillers depend on the trope of a drug or alcohol impaired main character or narrator? Too many, The Girl on the Train, the Woman in the Window, etc. Make it stop.
