Macy’s Flower Show 2026 Thu. April 23-Sun. May 10

I don’t care how bougey it is, I love the Macys Flower Show. 

This year’s show harkens back to Social Studies Class remembrances, featured are over-sized dolls of women settlers who harvested America, along with sets of plants from different regions of the country. 

A hardcore flowerista (not me) would note, legitimately, the amount of synthetic flowers that dominated the displays, but there was a patchwork theme that was about sewing, rather than the flowers, that somewhat supported it. 

There was a map of the United States in flowers.  The United States of Flowers.  More wayfinding than usual with the sets of regional flowers.  A wall display with each state flower under a flower awning was on point. The enormous knitted-doll figures of the women settlers tending the land were homesteader fantastical. 

Today, there are flower displays around the world that make the Macy’s show seem small.  However, the ingenuity in each year’s Macy’ show remains impressive. Flower power.
