Old Pothos, New Home

Pothos is known as the easy-going plant that’s an office mate. It loves to grow its vines under office fluorescent lighting. But this one was bought at a Plant Estate Sale which is tricky. Older plants tend to be set in their ways. They can fall apart quickly in unfamiliar environs. So I didn’t do a re-pot, put it in a bowl, simply trimmed all the brown overgrown bits, untangling the vines, watered it, gave it a little plant food. I’ll get a small clip light for more exposure and to highlight the plant.

I have propagated Pothos before. This plant’s vines look too old to be propagated but I am placing some cuttings in water anyway. Plants are funny. The last time I propagated a Pothos, it did become a full plant but didn’t last more than a few seasons.  With its joyful tangles, Pothos is a great houseplant if you are a newbie or are time pressed.
